What to do if you're bored at home?

In times of the pandemic, every one of us has faced much boredom, anxiety, and depression. When you are self-quarantining at home or in a lockdown, people can't hang out with friends, do as much exercise, or just going out, so to feel bored is completely normal. So what can you do to feel less bored while being productive?

Here are 6 things you can do:

1. Healthy and balance

Start a healthier life: eating more greens, exercising, and getting plenty of rest. You don't need to go out to exercise and be healthy! Try doing yoga, planking, chin-ups, right in the comfort of your own home. Order groceries and start cooking for yourself, which saves you more money and can be much healthier. You'll be feeling MUCH happier and healthier, helping you cope better with the pandemic.

2. Start a new hobby

There are many, many hobbies that don't require you to step a foot out of the door, only needing tools and resources you probably already have at home. Here are some hobbies you can try during this pandemic:

- Cooking & baking. Who doesn't like good food?

- Listening to music and exploring new music. There is not a better time to expand your music taste, so why not try it out today? BTW, music is also a proven de-stressor, so go ahead!

- Binge on Netflix. I heard Elite is having a new season :0

- Knitting. Trust me, it's really therapeutic. Not to mention, it's proved to keep your brain sharp and can improve your hand-eye coordination.

- Or maybe, I don't know, you can write an article for us. :)

3. Clean and decorate your room.

To improve your lockdown experience, try decorating and cleaning your room up. With just some cleaning, accessories, and decorations, you can turn your own room into your own safe haven, sheltering you in the pandemic. Give it a try!

4. Join some online competitions

Online competitions, and competitions in general, are a great way for you to gain experience, as well as win awards for future academic purposes, so why don't you join one? Here is a link for you to find a competition that suits you best:

5. Spend some time with family and friends

The pandemic has limited our time to hang out with friends, go out, have fun, confining many to the bedroom. However, take this as an opportunity to spend more time with your family, understand each other better and create memories! The pandemic also doesn't mean that you can't spend time with your friends. You can still call friends up, or just text them!

6. Don't forget to study and read!

Knowledge is power. After the pandemic, it's inevitable that we might forget a lot of knowledge learned at school. So why not revisit your old materials, as well as read some books and gain new knowledge? You can never have too much knowledge, can you?

Make the most of your time at home!

Your mental and physical health is extremely important.
